Winemaker's Note

Deep ruby with a touch of purple. A bold and concentrated red wine — the nose is very expressive with red berry aromas followed by hints of toast and pepper. The palate is incredibly smooth and juicy with silky tannins and terrific balance.

Winemaking

Grapes are harvested separately: part of the crop undergoes hot maceration for fruit, colour and soft tannins, while the rest is destemmed for a two-week traditional maceration. The Cabernet is aged in French oak, the Merlot in American oak, before both are blended together.

Terroir

A Mosaic of Southern Soils

This Cabernet–Merlot draws its character from the contrasting landscapes of Languedoc — a vast natural amphitheatre facing the Mediterranean and bordered by the first mountain foothills. Vines are rooted in clay, limestone, sandstone and schist, a diversity that underpins the wine's balance.

Cabernet Sauvignon comes from areas benefiting from hot, sunny days and cooler late-summer nights, preserving structure and freshness. Merlot, which needs a reliable water supply, is selected from well-drained clay soils close to the Canal du Midi — together creating a smooth, juicy, approachable red.

The Bird on the Label

Coccothraustes coccothraustes · Famille des Fringillidae

Long ago, in the hills of Southern France, there lived a bird whose song was said to bring vines to life. The villagers called her BELA — meaning "beautiful" in an old tongue, a symbol of harmony between earth and sky. Where she flew, blossoms awakened, butterflies danced, and grapes ripened under golden light.

Inspired by this legend, BELA wines capture that same natural rhythm. Each bottle is a tribute to a living landscape, where flora, fauna and tradition grow as one. Sip gently, and you may hear her song — a whisper of nature, carried in the wine.
