The Legend Behind the Label

Three birds, three wines, one story of harmony between earth and sky.

Every BELA label carries an illustration inspired by the birds of Southern France — La Paruline tigrée, Le Serin cini and Le Gros-bec casse-noyaux — each one a nod to the legend from which the brand takes its name.

A Whisper of Nature, Carried in the Wine

Long ago, in the hills of Southern France, there lived a bird whose song was said to bring vines to life. The villagers called her BELA — meaning "beautiful" in an old tongue — a symbol of harmony between earth and sky. Where she flew, blossoms awakened, butterflies danced, and grapes ripened under golden light.

Inspired by this legend, every BELA label features a hand-illustrated bird native to the wine's home region: La Paruline tigrée watches over our Pinot Noir, Le Serin cini graces the Sauvignon Blanc, and Le Gros-bec casse-noyaux presides over the Cabernet-Merlot. Each is a tribute to a living landscape, where flora, fauna and tradition grow as one.

Sip gently, the legend says, and you may hear her song — a whisper of nature, carried in the wine. It's a small detail, but one that captures exactly what BELA set out to do: bottle not just wine, but a sense of place.
